Below is a glimpse into some of my work history and some highlights of my responsibilities with each role. The most important take aways from each opportunity were not the technical skills and knowledge - those definitely help - but the perspectives I gained, the people I met, and the stories I encountered.

 

That may not be reflected here as much, but it shines through my attitude, personality, and everything else I do in my career and life.

  • Engage with Magic Kingdom Guests from far and wide to provide unforgettable hospitality with the Main Street Daily Operations team

  • Promote safety during parade, cavalcade, firework and other attractions amongst large crowds averaging more than 53,000 guests from day to day

  • Trusted to inform guests of safety measures and event updates through public address microphones

  • Adapt to rapidly changing environments alongside a nightly team of more than 100 cast members to provide clear communication to guests

  • Support my fellow cast members through a courteous attitude, punctuality and efficiency

Corporate Communications Intern​

  • Planned and executed project-based assignments to contribute to corporate and field initiatives, particularly for the community engagement and content strategy teams

  • Collaborated to pitch, organize, and share creative content for the company’s social media channels, write external-facing articles detailing company initiatives for third party public relations firms, created employee engagement materials, and designed custom graphic presentations and templates using Powerpoint for internal use

  • Created articles and edited submissions for the company-wide internal newsletter, IPToday, and intranet site in Microsoft Sharepoint CMS

  • Assisted the development of the company mascot’s personality profile to use in social media, community engagement events, and internal communications

  • Supported the organization of email distribution lists impacting employees company wide

  • Research local events that support diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for potential sponsorship and partnership opportunities

  • Curated content while digitizing the historical archived assets ahead of company’s 125th anniversary

  • Developed web pages for nearly 200 company locations across the world, and assisted in uploading translations of product pages, biographies, and other site elements across 8 languages through Drupal, an open source CMS

  • Assist with C-Suite executive communications, including creative content for CEO succession materials

Athletic Media Relations Assistant

  • Supported the Director of Athletic Media Relations with an energetic attention to detail in office organization, task prioritization, meeting note recordings, and brainstormed plans of action for projects and game execution

  • Prepared media releases and press materials to communicate with internal and external constituents about the college’s athletics program and teams

  • Assisted with training and scheduling student employees to oversee the various game management functions required for each sporting event, such as public address announcer, music, scoreboard, live stats, live streaming video, and other functions

  • Regularly maintain upkeep of the athletics website that promotes Rhodes Athletics through SIDEARM (Sports Information Distribution Engine with Archives and Records Management) website management

​Unfortunately, now an archived site, blu3worldorder.com was a blog site dedicated to the sports scene in Memphis - more specifically - the basketball scene.

  • Credentialed media member through Memphis Grizzlies, Memphis Hustle, and 901 FC

  • Conducted interviews with athletes, coaches, and staff; wrote and developed articles

  • Edited fan opinion submissions and offered feedback on writing styles and approaches

  • Built professional and personal relationships that have led to repeated partnerships with The Commercial Appeal, 92.9 FM ESPN, Grind City Media, and Grizzly Bear Blues

  • Learned and read situations quickly while acting on feedback
